Have any of your clinics participated in local disaster drills?
Dear EP Peer Network Members:
Jill Missal, who many of you met at our recent training, has completed work on the set of canned exercises for clinics to utilize for training and exercising with their staff. I've uploaded them to the website for you to take a look at. The current plan is to have this downloadable as a paper package but to also build the document into a website, with a searchable database of exercises. This will allow you to find an exercise that suits your organzations skill level and geography. We also will then have the capability to add additional exercises (maybe that YOU create) to the database, to share with each other.
Here is a link to the draft document of exercises: your comments are always welcomed and needed -

Dear EP Folks,
I am in the process of working with Marilyn and Sally Abbott from the state to determine what you would like the APCA to provide in terms of EP training, equipment etc for the next year. Can you please advise me by May 20th COB what you would like to see us accomplish over the next 12 months or so.
Thanks, Beth beth@alaskapca.org 929-2736
Hi Kira,
It seems from this weeks conference that ICS training appears to be a need all around. I was thinking of two options, as I do NOT have funds to send a trainer to all of my members.
1) We offer an ICS web based training utilizing our existing webinar services
2) We offer ICS training as part of our fall conference. I'll be able to sponsor some travel.
What do you think would be of most benefit?
HI Beth!
Does the APCA have resources to support CHC EP training on-site?
More specifically, we are interested in providing some basic Incident Command Training to our general staff so that they are familiar with the terms and roles that will be in effect in an emergency situation (our EP team already completed online NIMS training). We would only be able to devote an hour or so of training time to the topic.
Is this type of training something that the APCA could provide? Would it be free of a charge to a CHC? Who would the trainer(s) be?
Thanks, Kira
